I started by importing footage onto the timeline, based on the animatic that I’ve done during the Pre-Production stage. Whilst doing that, I also worked on the continuity after each scene to make sure the flow of the music video is smooth and linear.

After I’ve done putting the clips in, I started the basic colour correcting and grading, since quite a few of them need some lighting support and colour enhancement.

For this scene, I put in the Lighting Effects and set the type to spotlight as I want more light to shine onto the actors. I set the radius to be quite wide so that the lighting is more diffused and not harsh. The light also helps the smoke to be seen better.

For this scene, the main problem isn’t the lighting. It is the small RGB light under the shirt. My goal was to make the light more diffused and less shaped like a square, and also increasing its exposure so it is brighter. I put in the VR Glow effect and track the light using a mask so that the effect follows the camera movement. I set the brightness higher and expanded the mask so it helps to blur out the edges. Lastly, I set the tint colour to the same colour of the light.

I pretty much did the same thing for this scene, except the glow radius, the brightness and the mask expansion are all smaller than those of the previous scene, as I’m working with a smaller area and I want the light to be more focused as well.

I used warp stabiliser for this scene because I want the shot to be more stable and so the zoom will be more pleasing to watch. The result I aim for is smooth motion with a smoothness of 50% and framing will be stabilise, crop and auto-frame. I also used VR glow to enhance the RGB light that was placed underneath his shirt, but this time I added keyframes and changed the brightness of the light so that it looks like a heart is beating.

For this scene, and all other dance scenes, I used the same settings and effects to ensure consistency throughout the music video. First I stabilised it using warp stabiliser, and because there are a lot of motions happening during the dance sequence, it is harder for the software to stabilise the videos to my liking, and so I have to increase the smoothness to 70%. Next, I put a lighting effect in and used a spotlight lighting directly above her head so it creates this aura around her when she dances.

Next, I searched through the presets to find a colour effect that suits the scene. I ended up using this effect called Lumetri Color (SL Blue Day4Nite (Canon C500)) which gives this nice blue hue. I manually adjusted the settings a bit more to my liking.

Lastly, I edited this scene which is kind of similar to one of the above scene, but this time instead of using orange as the tint colour, I used blue. I also stabilised it using warp stabiliser to enhance the smoothness of the zoom-in.
